Calm down

The skies aren't so gray today so I've calmed down...and so has today's art. This is an anniversary card I made for an aunt & uncle who will be celebrating their 50th on Valentine's Day. I was one of the flower girls and still have my white velveteen dress with the red bow, red & white heart-shaped head piece and white muff.

Out of all the 2010 new stamp releases from Hero Arts this was my favorite. I was inspired by the card Gerrie Johnnic, a fellow TechniqueJunkie, made using the image. My background is Distressed Inks and the image was stamped using them as well. The butterfly is a Martha Stewart punch, ribbons unknown. A bit of Stickles on the butterfly and scattered on the grasses finishes off the piece. I have quite a few ideas for this stamp running around in my head. Sure hope they turn out as pleasing as this one.

  2. I lost my first posted comment...oh well...I love this card, Susan. I agree, this stamp is one of my favs from Hero Arts new stuff. I saw it on the Hero Arts blog hop a couple of weeks ago. Someone did it with white Staz On on acetate for a card cover. Very cool. Your card looks great with the distress inks. I love earthy stuff!
