Happy Easter!

*Sizzix: Easter Elements, Tapered Fringe, mini cloud, Swirls texture fade
*Cardstocks: white, pink, green, brown
*Ranger:  Tattered Rose distress marker, ink; Tumbled Glass distress ink; Sky Blue archival ink
*Stampers Anonymous: Crazy Talk

I cut a mask using the mini cloud and pounced TG distress ink all over the card.  Additional clouds were cut and run through the texture fade.  Once the Tapered Fringe die had been cut I randomly lopped off the tops and taped the 'grass' to the bottom of the card.  The rabbit was slid in behind the grass.

Hope you enjoy hunting for eggs while wearing your Easter bonnet with all the frills upon it!

Coffee and friends

are the perfect blend!
Using a Tim Holtz stencil I pounced brown distress ink randomly across the card front.  A coffee bean stamp was inked up with a darker brown ink.  The beverage container images were stamped in Jet Black archival ink onto watercolor paper and colored with distress markers.  These were layered onto a blue-green cardstock scrap for framing.

*Stampers Anonymous: Fresh Brewed Stamps, Splatter stencil
*Ranger: brown distress ink, Coffee/Jet Black archival inks, distress markers (Old Paper, Tea Dye, Vintage Photo, Ground Espresso, Hickory Smoke, Lucky Clover, Pine Needles)
*Stamps by Judith: coffee bean

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

I love decorating my vintage potato masher for the holidays!  It rests on doilies (also coordinated with the seasons) that my grandmother made.  My mom won't relinquish grandma's masher so I had to go buy my own.
*Sizzix:  Bow-Tied, Spring Greenery, Tiny Tattered Florals
*Ranger:  distress paint, stains (Peeled Paint, Mowed Lawn, Crushed Olive, Cracked Pistachio)
*Martha Stewart punches (fern, small branch)

I plopped, smeared and distressed all the Ranger products all over one #8 tag.  From that I was able to cut out all seven flowers and managed to master the little coiling tool that comes with the dies.  Yay!  A one inch wide band was put on the handle first and the layers built up on it.  I want to be able to change it out for another spring look soon.

The counted cross-stitch heart I made many, many moons ago and have one for each month.  Sometimes I just add a simple bow to the handle but when I got my Mini Tattered Florals die I knew immediately what I was going to do first.

Hippity hoppity

Easter is on its way!  Just received my new distress crayons so this rainy Sunday was a perfect day to play with them and create my version of Tim's March tag.

surfaces: manila tag, corrugated cardboard, patterned paper, vellum, adhesive metal sheet, distress watercolor cardstock

inks: distress ink (Seedless Preserves, Frayed Burlap, Ground Espresso); distress spray stains (Picket Fence, Ground Espresso, Brushed Pewter); archival ink: Deep Purple

crayons: set 2 (not the brights or browns/black/white)

mediums:  white gesso

embellishments: fabric strip, silk ribbon scraps

adhesives: Multi Medium (matte), Collage Glue Stick, pop dots

dies:  Easter Elements Bigz, Mixed Media Thinlets, Tag & Bookplate BigzL, Ticket movers & shapers

stamps:  Crazy Talk

misc.: foil sheet (purple), egg punch, slot punch

The eggs were punch from watercolor cardstock that had smears of the distress crayons watered down with the water brush.  An adhesive backed metal sheet was applied to a thin piece of cardboard; die cut with the ticket.  I stamped the phrase in archival ink then used a tiny ball roller/roller ball to depress the lettering (aka 'faux word band').  I created holes for my fabric strip using a slotted hole punch.

I wonder what techniques Tim will use next month in his remix of tags?

Happy anniversary!

My mom and step-dad are celebrating 17 years of marriage today.  I wanted to make a different type of card for them...not just the same old A-2.

I know the inside pieces aren't a good scale but I worked with what I had.  The main colors are peach and light green, the colors from their wedding.

*Sizzix:  Shadowbox numeric and alphabet sets, Heart Wings, Handwritten Love
*Bazzill cardstocks, unknown manufacturer of decorative paper
*Spellbinders Classic Scalloped Small Rectangles, Classic Ovals, Classic Scalloped Ovals
*Ranger: Cornflower Blue archival ink
*Stampers Anonymous: Handwritten Thoughts

The instructions can be found in a number of places...Splitcoaststampers, Sandi Genovese are two that I saw.  I'm sure there are others.
