Inspiration Studio 490

and another two-fer!  Hot ziggity, over on the Simon Says Stamp & Show blog this week's theme is to show your love for Wendy Vecchi's art style and products.  So simple, even a cave man could do it!  LOL  AND, on the EverythingWendyVecchi yahoo group the theme is also to feature Wendy's art style and products (duh!) but you need to include a hinge in your project (see Book 3, page 25 to see Wendy's inspiration piece).

1 - Let's start with this

2 - get to this

3 - add this...

4 - wind up with this

Blogger, you are the most unfriendly design product I've ever used!  Drats and double drats!  Your formatting stinks!

So, I took the green paper, cut it to be a #12 tag.  Colorized it using the Wrinkle Free Distress technique.  At the bottom I embossed Tim's Scrollworks border and hit the embossed area with the Gold paint dabber.  Added the sheer net that has gold glitter all over it.

I covered the Art Parts pieces with a light coat of Picket Fence distress stain.  Using pinks and browns I added a bit of color to the face (okay, she looks rather diseased, I know).  The large face from It's Face Art was stamped in Jet Black archival ink on the coordinating Art Parts pieces (face and additional crown) and immediately covered the pieces with clear embossing powder.  There was too much embossing powder so I couldn't color her eyes and mouth with distress ink as I had planned.  Plan B...use archival ink...will paint the same way.  The crown was sprayed with Heirloom Gold Perfect Pearls Mist.

Using Tim's Iron Gate on-the-edge die I cut a small piece from grunge board and covered it with Tarnished Brass distress crackle paint.  Once dry I covered it with red and brown distress inks then a quick dab of Walnut Stain distress stain and wiped it off.  My hinge has been instantly aged!

Love the new mini frames art parts!  Both pieces were colored with yellow and red distress inks.  I wanted the center to be a bit lighter so I dabbed some PFDS over it.  I left the frame and inside piece intact and stamped the lace background from Material Art on it in JBAI.  The frame was also sprayed with HGPPM.  The sentiment was from Art Fit For A Queen was stamped in JBAI and covered with clear embossing powder.  Around the frame I carefully ran the GPD.  Gold photo corners were broken in half, hit with Red Pepper alcohol ink and JBAI.  They were glued on with Claudine Hellmuth's Multi-Medium.

I really hated to cover up my tag with the lace but the color combo just wasn't working.  Sigh.  And I love how the embossing looks at the bottom.  Gotta try this again!

**Tip of the day:  you know how heating grungeboard can warp it?  Never fear, turn it over and apply a bit of heat and voila!  It will flatten back out!  Even with all the crackle paint on it.  Woohoo!

It's been fun just sitting here playing with Wendy's stamps and Art Parts.  I wish I could have added some Clearly For Art item but my mojo wasn't having any of that.  Oh well.

  3. Very cool! Love the embossing on the bottom and how you used just a bit of the fence die. Looks like you had a great time getting inky!
