Not your usual wedding card

You won't find a card like this at your local Hallmark store!

The source of my inspiration can be found here.  Seriously, I could live in this woman's blog.  Her work with dies is simply amazing!  Her scenes are to die for (no pun intended!).

I used Karen Burniston's open door die, TH brick wall embossing folder, Martha Stewart Branch Punch and those small flowers that can be found in the bridal department at Michael's.  I buy white and color them to suit the art.  Sometimes these fit the idea better than a realistic or more dimensional flower.  The USPS is also kinder to them, I don't care how well you package them.

The heart inside the open door is an old Sizzix die (computer generated the couples' names, the stamp is from Stampin'Up.  There are some small ivy leaves and they're from Susan's Garden (Sizzix).  The sentiment on the inside of the card was computer generated.

Anniversary card idea

I don't remember if I saw this idea on Pinterest or where (my rememberer is faulty at times) but I thought it was quite clever.  Here's my version:
The lavender base card is Bazzill cardstock.  Love the Sizzix strip die (Flagpole with Lantern & Sign by Karen Burniston) for the towel bar (scrap of brown cardstock), the towels, heart, trim and initials are also Bazzill cardstock.  The heart is a Sizzix die; the initials are Sizzix 'Type Set' strip die by Tim Holtz, and the trim is an EK Success border punch.

Happy Hanukkah!

Tonight is the first night of Hanukkah and we're already licking our chops for the latkes!  My mother-in-law's old cast iron skillets will be called into action once again to put a yummy crunch on the 'taters.  Bring on the sour cream and applesauce...

On the front of the card I've highlighted the 8 nights of Hanukkah with a silver pen.  The embossing was created using one of Tim/Sizzix's embossing folders on white cardstock.  The base card is dark blue.

The inside was cut using a Karen Burniston/Sizzix Pop 'N Cut die.  I don't remember who manufactures the stamps I used; stamped in Cobalt archival ink.  The inside label and ribbon strips are part of the add-on die by Sizzix.  The dreidel is an older Sizzlit die.  The edges of interior card were cut with Tim/Sizzix's on-the-edge die.

Isn't it time for dinner yet????????????
