Use your S**t challenge - glitter
Oh, how I dislike glitter. And now I like it even less. I forgot to turn off the ceiling fan so when I pulled out several jars (that either hadn't been closed tightly or had excess on top of the shakers) my room became rather sparkly. Heavy, heavy sigh.I decided to make a one-page layout showing my feelings about glitter. I painted on the plaid (unknown paint) freehand. Can you tell? lol Two Sizzix ornaments were die cut, one with the word 'joy' out of black cardstock. The 'joy' one was run covered with double-sided tape first so the glitter would adhere best (I hope!). My sentiment was die cut using Tim's new alpha thinlits dies and black paper. Once on the page I drew around them with a Sharpie to echo the message. Additionally, I scribbled 'I hate glitter!' across the upper right hand edge.
I had a new sunflower die (unknown manufacturer) that was itching to be used. The sample I had seen had watercolor paper inserts but I wanted to see if I could 'paint' with glitter. Turns out I can. Not sure how the green stayed completely within the lines. But I like it and that's all that matters! The glitters I used were Martha Stewart and the rest weren't labeled any longer. That's how long I've had them. lol

My friend, Lori, has been issuing weekly challenges (to use your s**t because we most have plenty to use!) over on Facebook. This week you were to watch a video (she shared the link on FB) by Francis Papillon. Here's my take using the same general procedures but not the same products.

Ranger: archival inks (Coffee, Black Soot); Distress Grit Paste; Glue N'Seal; Distress paints (Walnut Stain, Tea Dye, Crushed Olive, Fossilized Amber, Antiqued Bronze); Distress crayons (Vintage Photo, Walnut Stain); scraps of cardstock; Stampers Anonymous (Studio 490 015, 016 and TH CMS343); leaf punch; black Sharpie; mulberry scraps; snippets of hemp twine

It's been too long....
since my last post. I can only apologize and hope to do better. I'll share as many cards as I can today but won't have any details...sorry. I'm not sure I kept my notes on how I created them. I'm trying out a new photo editor as I lost my last one when my computer crashed last Thanksgiving. Resizing photos is still hard for me; please bear with me. If you send me an email (susan-k@outlook.com) I will do my best to answer your questions about specific cards. Enjoy my cards that I created between April and October.
